My father once told me that the purpose of life was to start new projects, finish them, and then begin all over again! Well I've done it. I have completed the greatest journey of my not so long life. My journey began in the spring of 2010, when I received a call to serve in the West Indies Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It took me from Provo, Utah to Knoxville, Tennessee then to Trinidad, Suriname, and Grenada respectfully. I learned two new languages and had the opportunity to associate with thousands of wonderful people who have touched my life in unforgettable ways.
It is truly impossible to describe my mission in a simple post, so I'll just say that it was amazing. I hope that as I continue to catch up with everyone that I'll have the opportunity to share more of it with you. I returned home on Thursday the 28th of June. We flew from Trinidad to Miami then Miami to Dallas and finally Dallas to Salt Lake City. We got in around 8:45pm and our parents were there and also some of the other elders from Suriname.
Since then I've been drying to catch up with everyone and everything that has changed in the last two years which means a last of work. I still have a lot to do as well! I speak tomorrow in scarement meeting and then it'll just be a waiting game until school starts in August. Other then that, I don't have too much going on. Just trying to keep doing the good and it the bad. It will be interesting trying to get ready for school again.
Saying all of this I want to thank you all for your support and encouragement, your love and your care, and your faith and prayers. Certainly my mission would have been a success had y'all not been a part of it. I appreciate you and have much love as well. Thank you for everything and I can't wait to be with you again!
With much love,
Nathan John Nielson
